The Journey to Excellence program replaces and updates the Quality Unit Awards.   It is a performance recognition program with 3 levels of achievement Bronze, Silver and Gold.  There are individual programs for Cub Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, and Ships that are specific to the programs.

The Journey to Excellence program recognizes the unit’s efforts in activities, building membership, retention, youth leadership, service, training, and recharter as well as other specific categories for each Scouting type.  Points are available for the 3 levels of achievement Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Every unit is encouraged to earn at least their Bronze Recognition in 2011.

Attached are the individual Program score sheets for each type of Scouting along with a Glossary sheet with definitions to help clarify any questions on the objectives.

Remember this is a 10 month year for Impeesa District and we will be rechartering again in the fall.  All of the Journey to Excellence Program sheets will have to be completed and turned in shortly after the recharter is completed.

As the name implies this is not going to be a one-time shot and will require a little effort to achieve the higher levels but the reward is “excellence”.  Excellence in your unit and in your Scouts and you will see the results.

Contact your unit Commissioner if you have any specific questions on this program.
